In August 2023 we began our journey to bringing the Wizard of Oz to Sutton Bridge. Over the next five months, we rehearsed twice a week all whilst juggling our own day jobs, studies and everything in between.
Directed by our very own Group Member Fiona, we sung, danced and laughed our way down the Yellow Brick Road in what has been dubbed Sutton Bridge Player’s best performance yet!
Based on the book by L. Frank Baum, Dorothy (played by Lottie Ryan) and Aunt Em (played by Jason Carnell) explored all that the Land of Oz had to offer. We met the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly lion with gusto; battled the Wicked Witch of the West, and celebrated with joy alongside the Munchkins.
